#495- 16.3' x 7'  Flat Bottom

Lineage:

This 16' flat bottomed, hull design kit has been built by Chester Boatworks in various configurations, both with console and tiller controls and with and without self-bailing cockpit decks.  The hull shown above is the self-bailing version.   Unlike our larger flat bottoms, this hull has the bottom plate wrap all the way to the top of the stem in a single piece.  As with most of our flat-bottomed landing craft the bottom has 3" x 1 1/2" (deep) channels running fore and aft along the bottom.  These channels provide panel stiffening and protection, but they also improve tracking and efficiency- the latter by virtue of trapping air between the channels at speed.

The NC cutting kit is available with or without a fuel tank, helm console, push knees, etc, and of course custom design kits with any degree of changes are available.
