#479, 30' x 8.5' Railroad Tug
Lineage:
This is the second of two Character Tug design kits that we have done, the other being our 23' diesel Tug (#267). Designed to be trailerable, the 8.5' beam, multi-chine design includes 2,923# of water ballast. Propulsion is a 19.7 hp, wood fired, steam engine with 30 gallon boiler. The boat has not yet been built, but the owner intended to do much of the finish construction and rigging himself.
