#300-18;  18' x 8.1'  Flat Bottom

Lineage:

This 18' flat bottomed, hull design has been built by Chester Boatworks in various gunwale configurations, including one with 20" wide gunwales, and both with and without a console.  It is the same hull as our #300 but with 2.2' trimmed from the stern.  As with most of our flat-bottomed landing craft the bottom has 3" x 1 1/2" (deep) channels running fore and aft along the bottom.  These channels provide panel stiffening and protection, but they also improve tracking and efficiency- the latter by virtue of trapping air between the channels at speed.

To date it has been built with a closed bow, but it is also a candidate for a landing craft bow.

The NC cutting kit is available with or without a fuel tank, helm console and leaning post, and of course custom design kits with any degree of changes are available.
