#279, 35.8' x 12.8'- Research

Lineage:

This design was built by Viking Welding and is an update and minor re-arrangment of very similar research/science vessels that we designed and built earlier at Winninghoff Boats for Michigan Tech University and the University of Connecticut.  Interestingly, this U.S. Coast Guard Academy boat is moored within only a few miles of the U. Conn boat.  All of these have been USCG certified (or qualified) to SubChapter T at various levels.

A twin inboard diesel arrangement, it is a versatile hull that has served its institutions well.
